Leslie Davies: 2016/2017 Biography & Statistics

Davies is a powerful centre-forward, who is best know for his time in the Welsh Premier League at Bangor City. In July 2012, Davies was nominated for the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award, aged 27 at the time, he was the surprise name on a 32-man list which also included Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Davies joined Nomads from Bangor City in the 2015/16 pre-season and made his competitive debut for The Nomads against Newtown in August 2015 and scored his first competitive goal for The Nomads in a 2-1 victory over Haverfordwest County in September 2015.

Davies went on to make over 70 appearances for The Nomads, scoring over 25 goals for the Club before departing at the end of May 2017 to join Bala Town.

Davies had re-signed for Bangor City in June 2007 after previously playing for the Citizens for two seasons in 2003/04 and 2004/05. He has been instrumental to the success of the club under Nev Powell, winning three Welsh Cups and the Welsh Premier League Title in 2011.

He made 49 appearances for the club in his first spell and scored 12 goals. He also featured in Bangor's Intertoto Cup match against Dinaburg in 2004/05. Davies then signed for Porthmadog in July 2005 where he instantly became a hit a Y Traeth where T-Shirts and even a web site were devoted to him. He made 64 appearances for Port, scoring 18 goals in his two seasons at the club. He is an exciting winger or striker who loves to take players on and uses his strength to great effect.

He was involved with the Wales Under 21 squad in 2003/04 and also played for the Wales Semi Pro team in 2006, scoring twice against Ireland. He is affectionately known by all as 'The Truck.'
