Bangor City captured the signing of former Torino FC centre back Sergio Uyi in January 2017 from Greek club AE Pezlana Kastoniou but he was released at the end of the 2016/17 season.
The 23-year old, who holds dual Nigerian-Italian nationality, trained with the First Team Squad over the New Year and played the full 90 minutes of the mid-season friendly against Liverpool Under-23's on 4 January.
The powerful 6'4' tall centre-back began his career with Italian Serie-A club Torino FC 1906. Uyi played in the youth ranks at Torino where he starred in the Campionato Primavera (Under-19) side until his release by 'Il Toro' in 2013.
Uyi trialled with Czech giants Slavia Prague before eventually signing with Lithuanian league club DFK Dainava. A move to Finnish second-tier side Atlantis FC (Helsinki) in 2015 was followed by a spell with German club SVV Reutlingen 1905. While in Germany, Uyi was called up to the Nigeria Under-23 squad for a friendly against Brazil in March 2016.
