Former WPL Young Player of the Year, Kieran Smith has decided to take the opportunity to play football in New Zealand for 12 months, joining up with former Lakesider Rob Pearson.
Bala Town noted that 'the club could not be seen to stand in the way of this incredible opportunity'.
Smith has signed an agreement that when his time ends in New Zealand, that he will be returning to Maes Tegid for the 2018-19 season.
In his 4 years at Maes Tegid, Kieran Smith made 113 (+10) appearances scoring 29 goals including the winning goal against The New Saints in the JD Welsh Cup Final.
The club statement also said 'Everyone at Maes Tegid would like to wish Kieran every success and thank him for his services in his time here at Bala Town'.
