Evan Horwood is the latest player to put pen to paper with the Lakesiders today following his departure from Chester last week.
The 31 year old is a central defender who can also play on the left hand side has plenty of Football League experience to his name. Starting out at Sheffield United, he first made a name for himself at Carlisle United before a move to Hartlepool in 2010 that saw him made over 120 appearances for the Club.
In 2013 he moved to Tranmere before signing for Northampton Town a year later. After two years with the Cobbles, he went on loan to Grimsby before signing for Chester in July 2016 where he made 21 appearances and scoring once for them.
Manager Colin Caton spoke to us about his new addition;
“I’m absolutely over the moon to have secured the services of Evan Horwood. Having been approached by Evan about his interest in going part time a while ago, we were instantly interested. He is a top class player who can play anywhere down the left and centre midfield. He is a good personality that will fit in well with the rest of the squad.”
Horwood has been allocated the number 11 shirt vacated by the departing Kieran Smith.
